I made this painting shortly after the eclipse in August 2026. Around the same time, my cousin and I had been riding her horses through the forests near our village, Bardal. Thoughts of the Year of the Horse, combined with the lingering sense of wonder that an eclipse leaves behind, stayed with me. This painting grew out of that constellation of coincidences.
